What is your favorite restaurant in Macon, GA?
I love the Rookery! The food is so delicious and I love the atmosphere of downtown Macon. I also love local coffee shops. If you come visit Mercer, definitely stop by Z-beans for the best coffee!
I chose Mercer because...
The community! When I stepped on campus for my first tour, my intuition told me that this was the right place. When you go on a tour, pay attention to all of the students out and about on campus interacting with each other. Mercer is such a welcoming community where everybody feels connected. I loved the idea of small class sizes and all of Mercer's outside of the classroom learning opportunities, specifically Mercer on Mission, which I plan to participate in during summer of 2024!
What is your favorite memory at Mercer so far?
This is such a difficult question! My favorite memories at Mercer are with my Mock Trial team. We do so many activities together! Once, we did a Merserve community service event at a community garden. Giving back to the community with the people I love to spend time with was such an amazing and memorable experience.
Best advice you have for incoming students?
Just breathe! I know it seems like everything is happening so fast and you may feel overwhelmed in your college decision, but taking a second to step back and live in the moment is so important. If you're making your college decision right now, don't overthink it and trust your gut. If you've already chosen Mercer, welcome! College can seem so overwhelming in the months leading up to your first semester, but connecting with other students can help you feel connected to campus before you begin. It can be stressful beforehand, but when the semester begins you will have so much fun!
